dc.descriptionIP telephony is not a new service; most companies use it because of its benefits in terms of cost and functionality. However, in most cases, IP telephony channels for transporting voice are not used in a dedicated manner but, instead, voice is carried along with the data packets and is principally in such cases that difficulties are presented in service quality. According to the ITU (International Telecommunication Union) standards, there are parameters that affect the QoS (Quality of Service) in VoIP (VoIP) and during the development of this research these parameters were studied and the results of the simulation of some of them were analyzed in a test lab on MPLS to show their effects on QoS.en-US
dc.descriptionLa telefonía IP no es un servicio nuevo, la mayoría de grandes empresas lo utilizan por sus beneficios relacionados con sus bajos costos y una variedad de funcionalidades. Sin embargo, en casi todos los casos no se emplean los canales de telefonía IP dedicados para el transporte de la voz sino que esta es transportada junto con los paquetes de datos y es principalmente en esos casos donde se presentan inconvenientes con la calidad del servicio. De acuerdo a las normas de la UIT (Unión Internacional de Telecomunicaciones) existen parámetros que afectan la QoS (Qualityof Service) en VoIP (Voz IP) y durante el desarrollo de esta investigación se estudió dichos parámetros y se analizó los resultados de la simulación de algunos de estos en un laboratorio de prueba sobre MPLS para mostrar sus efectos en la QoS.  es-ES
