dc.descriptionNumerous institutions, both basic and secondary education and higher education, affirm in their missions or in their P.E.I. that form citizens with critical thinking. However, education researcher Julián De Zubiría, of the renowned Alberto Merani Foundation, maintains that in Colombia only 1% of those over 18 years of age have the capacity to read critically. Despite its commitment to truth, critical thinking is not an island, since it is a partial functional aspect of a very complex central nervous system and plays in the practice of personal interactions in the context of a complex society .en-US
dc.descriptionNumerosas instituciones, tanto de educación básica y media como de educación superior, afirman en sus misiones o en sus P.E.I. que forman ciudadanos con pensamiento crítico.  Sin embargo, el investigador en educación Julián De Zubiría, de la reconocida Fundación Alberto Merani, sostiene que en Colombia sólo el 1% de los mayores de 18 años tiene capacidad de lectura crítica. A pesar de su compromiso con la verdad, el pensamiento crítico no es una isla, puesto que se trata de un aspecto funcional parcial de un sistema nervioso central muy complejo y juega en la práctica de las interacciones personales en el contexto de una sociedad también compleja.   es-ES
