Coinfección de virus dengue y SARS-CoV-2: Revisión sistemática

dc.description.abstractIntroducción. Durante los últimos dos años, se han documentado coinfecciones de virus dengue y SARS- COV-2, ya que, ambos agentes pueden coexistir en pacientes residentes en países ubicados en el trópico y subtrópico. Recientes estudios han demostrado que las complicaciones y mortalidad es más frecuente en pacientes coinfectados con Covid-19 y dengue, que, en pacientes con mono infección, lo cual es relevante desde el punto de vista clínico para el abordaje de estos pacientes. Objetivo. Identificar las características demográficas y clínicas de pacientes con coinfección de virus dengue y SARSCoV-2 durante los años 2020 y 2021. Métodos. Se realizó una revisión sistemática, para identificar, seleccionar y evaluar críticamente los estudios, y para recolectar y analizar los datos de estos estudios. Resultados. Se identificaron y seleccionaron 26 artículos de coinfecciones de virus dengue y SARS- COV-2, donde se analizaron diversos casos desde un punto de vista clínico y demográfico, la mayor cantidad de casos se registraron en países del continente asiático con un total de 11 artículos, las complicaciones se asociaron a pacientes con enfermedades crónicas y la manifestación más frecuente fue la fiebre acompañada de trombocitopenia. Conclusión. La coinfección COVID-19 y dengue se presenta con más complicaciones en pacientes en los extremos de la vida y con comorbilidades. La mayor incidencia se registró en los países endémicos para dengue y en los que se ha mantenido una transmisión activa por SARSCoV.spa
