dc.descriptionThis paper aims to find empirical evidence to analyze the effect on inflation of the use of the intervention interest rate to achieve the inflation target; in the first place an analysis is presented around the key variables that determine inflation; secondly, the main features of an objective inflation scheme, the inflation results and the decisions taken by the Banco de la Republica regarding the intervention interest rate are presented; Finally, we present the results obtained by means of a Structural Autoregressive Vectors (SVAR) model, which demonstrates, in the three models specified, the relationship between the inflation rate and the intervention interest rate since the signs thrown were as expected.en-US
dc.descriptionEn este artículo se pretende encontrar evidencia empírica que permita analizar el efecto que tiene sobre la inflación el uso de la tasa de interés de intervención para lograr la meta de inflación; en primer lugar se presenta un análisis en torno a las variables clave que determinan la inflación; en segundo lugar se exponen las principales características de un esquema de inflación objetivo, los resultados de inflación y las decisiones tomadas por el Banco de la Republica respecto a la tasa de interés de intervención; y por último se presentan los resultados obtenidos por medio de un modelo de Vectores Autoregresivos Estructural (SVAR) en el que se demuestra, en los tres modelos especificados, la relación existente entre la tasa de inflación y la tasa de interés de intervención ya que los signos arrojados fueron los esperados.es-ES
