Actualización del plan de manejo integral de residuos sólidos hospitalarios del Hospital San Pedro y San Pablo La Virginia año 2008

Abstract

Con este documento de descripción y proyección se pretende rediseñar y/o reestructurar el plan de gestión integral de los residuos sólidos del hospital San Pedro y San Pablo del municipio de La Virginia con el fin de definir el manejo adecuado de los residuos, orientándolo hacia la a la legislación exigida y sabiendo que es un aspecto fundamental dentro del sistema de Gestión Ambiental en la institución. Los estudios recientes han demostrado que la mayoría de las entidades de salud no están haciendo un adecuado manejo de los residuos sólidos debido a que en muchas ocasiones se preocupan tan solo por la salud de los pacientes pero no por el medio que los rodea ni los desechos que muchas veces pueden afectar a los pacientes, trabajadores y el medio ambiente debido que por medio del mal trato de los residuos se pueden propagar infecciones y vectores de contaminación, esto se manifiesta en las diferentes enfermedades que adquieren las personas en las entidades de salud y en la contaminación que se da al aire y el suelo. Ya la comunidad ha remediado este contexto quitándolos de la vista, arrojándolos fuera de las ciudades, cauces de los ríos o en el mar u ocultándolos mediante el enterramiento La importancia de este trabajo radica en realizar el plan integral de residuos sólidos hospitalarios que garantice un buen funcionamiento de los residuos y de la salud en el hospital San Pedro y San Pablo del municipio de la Virginia garantizando el mantenimiento y mejoramiento continuo, respecto a la mitigación y/o disminución de cantidad y calidad de los impactos ambientales derivados de este tipo de contaminación. Este trabajo trascenderá ya que ayudara a mejorar el factor de salubridad del hospital además de evitar la contaminación en el medio ambiente 9 Es de anotar que para darle la importancia y el alcance que este tipo de estudios requiere, se realiza un diagnostico situacional del la calidad del tratamiento de los residuos sólidos hospitalarios generados por la institución de salud, para analizar los diferentes aspectos que se cumplen y no se cumplen el tratamiento de residuos de esta especialidad y de este modo proyectar y diseñar un PGIRSH, que abarque toda la normatividad existente y haga hincapié en los factores ambientales tendientes a mitigar los impactos y los vectores de contaminación que estos generan, así mismo diseñar una serie de proyectos ambientales con miras a la buena implementación y puesta en marcha del pgirhs propuesto en este documento. The community has already remedied this context by removing them from sight, throwing them out of cities, riverbeds, or into the sea, or hiding them through burial. The importance of this work lies in carrying out the comprehensive plan for solid hospital waste that guarantees a good functioning of waste and health in the San Pedro y San Pablo hospital in the municipality of Virginia, guaranteeing the maintenance and continuous improvement, regarding the mitigation and / or reduction of quantity and quality of environmental impacts derived from this type of pollution.
