Key determinants in the theoretical debate on business growth

dc.descriptionBusiness growth has been widely noted in the academic literature as a relevant variable that explains the level of employment and welfare. Recently, other studies consider the influence of High-Growth firms and Gazelles to explain the dynamics growth. The aim of this work is to approach business growth from a theoretical point of view, establishing is impact as a multidimensional variable. Some factors that explain the growth are look over to improve the impacts of them in the business growth such as size, age, region and economic cycle. Finally, this paper analyzes the studies of Colombian growth and their characteristics to explain their path and conditioning factors.en-US
dc.descriptionEl crecimiento empresarial ha sido ampliamente señalado en la literatura académica como una variable relevante a nivel económico como generadora de empleo y bienestar. Recientemente también se ha considerado la influencia de las empresas de alto crecimiento y gacelas. Este trabajo tiene por objetivo abordar el crecimiento empresarial desde el punto de vista teórico, estableciendo su impacto, como variable multidimensional, de diversos factores empresariales como tamaño, edad, región y ciclo económico, a partir de la evidencia resultante de la revisión de literatura llevada a cabo. Además, se muestran algunos aspectos que contribuyen al crecimiento de las empresas en Colombia.es-ES
