| dc.description | This paper investigates possible mechanisms to terminate Colombia’s armed conflict. In order to obtain the required information, the head researcher and the auxiliary students resorted to firsthand and secondhand sources: interviews and documents. Three methods were used in this research: descriptive, historical, and analytic-deductive. Our main conclusions were the following: (1) There is indeed an armed conflict in Colombia. (2) The first step to its termination is to acknowledge its existence, without concealing or minimizing it. (3) Before sitting down to talk with insurgents, the representatives of the establishment’s various interest must come to an agreement about what to negotiate with the guerrillas. (4) As for the themes to be discussed, the starting point ought to be the “common agenda” agreed years ago between President Andrés Pastrana and the Farc guerrillas. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo investiga los mecanismos posibles para terminar con el conflicto armado en Colombia. Para obtener la información necesaria, el investigador principal y los estudiantes recurrieron a fuentes primarias y secundarias: entrevistas y documentos. En esta investigación se utilizaron tres métodos: el descriptivo, el histórico y el analítico-deductivo. Las conclusiones más importantes a las que se llegaro, fueron: 1a. En Colombia sí existe un conflicto. 2a. El primer paso para terminar con el conflicto es reconocer su existencia, no negarlo ni ocultarlo ni minimizarlo. 3a. Antes de iniciar conversaciones con la insurgencia, quienes representan los distintos intereses del estableci- miento deben ponerse de acuerdo en qué van a negociar con la guerrilla. 4a. En relación con los temas de negociación, debe partirse de la “agenda común” acordada entre el presidente Andres Pastrana y las Farc. | es-ES |
