| dc.description | Differential diagnosis in neurological patients included syncope, epilepsy, metabolic disorders such as hypoglyce- mia, intoxication and ischemic stroke, the primary care physician should know about the pathophysiology of each of these conditions for a proper diagnosis that facilitates appropriate therapeutic approach, we report the case of a patient with a history of ischemic cerebrovascular events not well clarified, who presented clinical manifesta- tions of syncope. Artificial cardiac pacemaker was implanted with overall improvement of symptoms. The patient showed normal brain scans in both the current and previous neurological episodes. | en-US |
| dc.description | El diagnóstico diferencial en un paciente neurológico incluye el síncope, epilepsia, alteraciones metabólicas como hipoglucemia, intoxicación y el accidente cerebrovascular isquémico. El médico de atención primaria debe tener clara la fisiopatología de cada una de estas condiciones para aproximarse a un diagnóstico adecuado que facilite un abordaje terapéutico oportuno. Se presenta el caso de una paciente con antecedentes de eventos cerebro- vasculares isquémicos no muy bien esclarecidos, quien presentó cuadros repetitivos compatibles con síncopes, desencadenados por pausa sinusal. Se implantó marcapasos con mejoría total de la sintomatología. Se logró evi- denciar normalidad en las tomografias cerebrales, tanto la actual como la de episodios neurológicos previos. | es-ES |
