This action research project aimed to strengthen the reading comprehension skills of fourth- grade students at Débora Arango Pérez School in Bogotá, with a focus on facilitating math problem-solving in English. The research involved the implementation of a didactic unit consisting of eight sessions, designed to strengthen students' abilities in understanding, planning, solving, and checking mathematical problems in English. The unit comprised four activities, each containing six problems accompanied by familiar images for the students. So, students tackled three problems in each session. The researcher employed reading comprehension strategies to aid students in understanding the problems, followed by devising problem-solving strategies and solving the equations. The project's outcomes were assessed through careful observation, student interactions, the management of the didactic strategy, this provides essential feedback for identifying the strengths and weaknesses and the use of a rubric to evaluate problem understanding and students' progress in reading comprehension. The findings indicated a significant improvement in students' competence in comprehending mathematical problems. The successful application of the didactic strategy, supported by theoretical foundations, research instruments, and the researcher's reflections, contributed to the overall enhancement of students' reading comprehension skills and their ability to solve math problems effectively. As it is described in the results of the application.spa
