This document describes an action research project that was conducted at San José de Usme School in Bogotá, Colombia. The study aims to strengthen eleventh graders´ speaking accuracy through the implementation of a backward design template of twelve sessions related to environment from their community, their locality and their city; Also, to investigate how it contributes to the enhancement in terms of vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar within the development of coherent and fluent ideas in the population object of study. Backward design was a method that allowed establishing connections between teaching and learning from the reflection and incorporation of the students' context and oral and didactic activities that encouraged them to use the grammar in context and which they could improve their speaking accuracy; showing their progress during the process taking into account the analysis of oral productions by the students. Finally, this study concludes that the backward design is a productive tool for teaching speaking from different topics, however it's a model that requires time, review of results and effort before, during and after the implementation stage.spa
