Objective: To determine the presence of bacteriophages; with lytic capacity against ESKAPE bacteria, from composted soils and wastewater belonging to the Universidad Libre. Method: An experimental field research was carried out with a quantitative approach, using as substrates the soil from the compost bin of the Universidad Libre seccional Pereira and the water from the "La Mielita" stream. The book Bacteriophages Methods and Protocols, Volume 1: Isolation, Characterization, and Interactions was used as a reference for the sampling, isolation and titration of bacteriophages (1). Results: Two bacteriophages with lytic capacities against Klebsiella spp and E. coli were isolated in wastewater and composted soil, respectively; a titer of 4x107 plaque-forming units/ml was determined for the phage with the capacity to lyse E. coli in composted soil. For the phage with the ability to lyse Klebsiella spp in composted soil, a titer of 4x103 plaque-forming units/ml was established. It was also possible to establish a method to obtain the bacteriophages and to establish the host bacteria of the phage and its lytic capacity.spa
