| spa |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | This study called “Character Growth Development through Socio emotional Learning in Third Grade CLIL Ethics class at Thomas de Iriarte School” was developed by the growing need to improve character in primary grade students through Socio emotional Learning at Thomas de Iriarte School where Édgar Gómez, the main researcher, is the ethics teacher. Regarding the multiple inferences addressing this particular phenomenon, it was essential to narrow the definition that was concerning with this research which is Social Emotional Learning (SEL), process that was developed by taking into consideration Cohen (2006), CASEL (2022), and Lagos (2016) perspective regarding Socio-emotional learning and its development. Moreover, Considering the results from the World Health Organization, Ministerio de Salud y protección Social, as well as the inquiry and analysis process of a school climate survey, and a field diary developed by the researcher, it was possible to identify that one of the main consequences of the increase in suicide attempts and also suicide are the high levels of anxiety and depression that show a great affectation not only internationally, but nationally. Regarding the previous contextualization, it was possible to identify that there was a growing need to enhance character in third grade students through socio-emotional learning in ethics class. This is a qualitative research, since the researcher is a participant who lives the reality of the classroom and is always observing and reflecting on the actions that take place in the context. Consequently, the researcher is frequently questioning himself about the students´ different attitudes and behaviors. | spa |
