dc.description.abstractIntroducción: La artritis séptica es una infección monoarticular ocasionada predominantemente por bacterias, la cual produce una gran morbilidad en la población infantil, por tal motivo es de suma importancia un diagnóstico oportuno y un tratamiento adecuado. Kocher en 1999 publicó unos criterios de gran utilidad para el diagnóstico clínico de artritis séptica de cadera en niños, los cuales se han venido utilizando de manera arbitraria para el diagnóstico de esta patología en otras articulaciones. Objetivo: Determinar la aplicabilidad de los criterios de Kocher para el diagnóstico clínico de artritis séptica en articulaciones diferentes a cadera en pacientes entre 1 y 18 años. Metodología: Estudio de validación diagnostica en el cual escogimos como población, pacientes entre 1 y 18 años con sospecha de artritis séptica en articulaciones diferentes a la cadera en Fundación clínica Campbell durante el periodo de Julio de 2020-Julio de 2022. Resultados: En la población estudiada la sensibilidad de los criterios de Kocher para confirmar el diagnóstico de AR en articulaciones diferentes a la cadera es de 53% aproximadamente cuando se cumplen los 5 criterios. Por su parte la especificidad de los criterios de Kocher para confirmar el diagnóstico de AR en articulaciones diferentes a la cadera es de 85% aproximadamente cuando se cumplen los 5 criterios. Discusión y Conclusión: El rendimiento diagnóstico de los criterios de Kocher no es igual para el diagnóstico de artritis séptica en articulaciones diferentes a la cadera. Por esta razón concluimos que los criterios de Kocher no son completamente válidos para el diagnóstico de artritis séptica de hombro, codo, rodilla y tobillo, además que su utilidad se ve reducida cuando se emplean de manera distinta a como fueron descritos originalmente.spa
dc.description.abstractenglishBackground: Septic arthritis is a monoarticular infection caused predominantly by bacteria, which produces a great morbidity in the child population, for this reason a timely diagnosis and adequate treatment is of the utmost importance. Kocher in 1999 published very useful criteria for the clinical diagnosis of septic arthritis of the hip in children, which have been used arbitrarily for the diagnosis of this pathology in other joints. Objective: To validate the applicability of the Kocher criteria for the clinical diagnosis of septic arthritis in joints other than the hip in patients between 1 and 18 years of age (Specify time and place). Methodology: Diagnostic validation study in which we will choose as a population, patients between 1 and 18 years old with suspected septic arthritis in joints other than the hip at “Fundación Clínica Campbell during the period July 2020-July 2022. Results: In the study population, the sensitivity of the Kocher criteria for confirming the diagnosis of RA in joints other than the hip is approximately 53% when all five criteria are met. The specificity of the Kocher criteria for confirming the diagnosis of RA in joints other than the hip is approximately 85% when all five criteria are met. Discussion and Conclusions: The diagnostic performance of the Kocher criteria is not equal for the diagnosis of septic arthritis in joints other than the hip. For this reason, we conclude that the Kocher criteria are not completely valid for the diagnosis of septic arthritis of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle, and that their usefulness is reduced when used in a manner other than that originally described.spa
